Frequently Asked Questions
Questions About Inner Child Healing and Hypnotherapy
Wanting to know what you are walking into is sensible, not sceptical. These are the questions asked most often, answered as directly as possible — including the ones where the honest answer is “it varies.”
Section One
About Inner Child Healing
Inner child healing is a therapeutic and reflective approach that looks at how emotional learning from early life may continue to influence adult feelings, beliefs, reactions and relationships. It focuses on understanding recurring patterns and developing a kinder, more conscious relationship with oneself. It is a supportive approach rather than a medical treatment, and individual experiences vary.
In practice this means examining a difficulty that keeps returning, tracing how it operates, and considering where the underlying expectation may have formed — then working out, deliberately, what you would like to do about it now. Read the full guide.
The “inner child” is a way of describing the emotional memory of your earliest years — the part of you that first learned what safety, love, disappointment and belonging felt like. It is not a separate personality and not a literal child within you. It is a useful shorthand for emotional expectations that were formed early, often before language, and that tend to persist into adulthood.
The phrase is a metaphor and a piece of clinical shorthand rather than a measurable structure in the mind. It is used because people find it a helpful way to think, not because it names a proven entity.
Early experiences are widely recognised in psychological literature as one of several influences on how people later relate to themselves and to others. They are an influence, not a determination. Temperament, later relationships, life circumstances, culture and personal choices all matter too. The purpose of this work is to understand one contributing thread more clearly, not to reduce a whole life to childhood.
It is also worth saying plainly that this is not about blaming your parents. This is discussed in more detail here.

The hypnotherapy page covers what a session involves and, importantly, what hypnotherapy cannot guarantee.
Section Two
About Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help a person explore thoughts, memories and emotional associations with less mental interruption. In the context of inner child work it may help some people notice the emotional logic underneath a recurring pattern, and consider an old conclusion from an adult perspective. It may help; it is not guaranteed to, and responses vary between individuals.
No. Hypnotherapy is a state of relaxed, focused attention rather than sleep or unconsciousness. People generally remain aware of where they are, can hear what is said, can speak, and can choose to stop at any moment. You cannot be made to act against your values or to disclose something you do not wish to disclose.
Stage hypnosis has created a widespread impression that is simply inaccurate about clinical practice. Most people describe the experience as similar to being deeply absorbed in a book.
No. Responses vary considerably, and some people find it more useful than others. It may not be appropriate for individuals with certain psychiatric conditions, or where a qualified medical or mental health professional should be leading care. Please tell Vibha about any diagnoses, medication or ongoing treatment so that suitability can be discussed honestly before beginning.
Section Three
Sessions and Practicalities
A first session is mostly a conversation: what brought you here, what you have noticed, what you would like to be different, and what feels comfortable to explore. Later sessions may include reflective discussion, guided relaxation and, where appropriate and with your agreement, hypnotherapy techniques. Everything is explained before it is introduced, and you can pause or stop at any point.
The healing process page sets out the six stages in detail.
This varies genuinely from person to person, and any fixed number promised before meeting you would be a guess. Some people work with one specific pattern over a short series of sessions; others prefer slower, longer-term work. A suggested approach is discussed after understanding your situation, and it can be reviewed as you go.
No. The work is concerned with patterns that are active now, not with producing a complete account of your history. Many useful sessions focus mainly on present-day situations. You decide what you share, and it is entirely acceptable to say that something is not available for discussion yet.
It can be, at times. Some sessions feel calm and clarifying; others touch something tender. Pacing is therefore part of the method rather than an afterthought — the aim is to work at an intensity you can tolerate and integrate, not to provoke a dramatic release. You can slow down or stop at any point.
Sessions are also designed to close in a settled state rather than ending abruptly on something raw.
Yes. What is discussed in a session stays in the session. No client's situation is used as an illustration on this website or elsewhere, and any example described in these pages is a composite written to explain a general pattern rather than an account of a real person.
Section Four
Safety and Suitability
These answers matter more than any of the others. Please read them carefully.
Please seek support from a qualified medical or mental health professional. If you are in crisis, experiencing thoughts of harming yourself, or your safety or daily functioning is affected, contact a medical professional or your local emergency services immediately. Inner child healing and hypnotherapy are supportive approaches and are not a replacement for appropriate medical or mental health care.
This practice does not provide emergency or crisis services.
No. It is not a substitute for assessment, diagnosis, medication or treatment provided by a qualified medical or mental health professional. Please never stop or alter prescribed treatment because of anything discussed in a session or read on this website — that is a decision for the doctor who prescribed it.
Supportive approaches often work best alongside professional treatment rather than instead of it.
No, and any practitioner who guarantees an outcome should be treated with caution. Individual experiences vary considerably, and outcomes depend on many factors that sit outside the session. What can be offered is a clear approach, an honest account of its limits, and a willingness to say when a different form of support would serve you better.
Say so. The approach can be adjusted, or it may become clear that a different kind of support is a better fit — in which case Vibha will say that directly rather than continuing. You may pause or end the work at any point without giving a reason.

Getting in Touch
You can call +91-9326115588, email hypnotherapy28@gmail.com, or send an enquiry through the contact form on the Contact Us page. Please share a little about what you would like support with, and your enquiry will be responded to as soon as possible.
As much or as little as you are comfortable with. A couple of sentences about what you would like support with is enough to begin. There is no need to explain your history in a first message, and nothing you write commits you to proceeding.
Yes, entirely. Questions about the approach, suitability or what a session involves are welcome and carry no obligation. It is generally better to ask before beginning than to begin uncertain.

Ask It Directly — It Is Not an Imposition.
General answers can only go so far. If your question concerns your own situation, a short conversation will almost always be more useful.
